Lykes Expands Employee Benefits Services

Lykes Insurance, one of Florida’s oldest commercial insurance agencies, is continuing its tradition of innovative employee benefits services by acquiring AGIS Tampa Bay and appointing Rob Pariseau, former president of AGIS Tampa Bay, as vice president for employee benefits services.  “We wanted to build on our existing strengths to provide an even more comprehensive set of consultative benefits services for our client partners, and knew that Rob was the right person for the job,” says John Brabson, CEO of Lykes Insurance. “The combination of his experience with the Lykes reputation brings even greater strength in compliance, wellness, communications, technology and analytics – all of which allow our clients to offer meaningful, cost effective benefits to their employees.”

Pariseau has more than 25 years of experience in employee benefits and human resources. Prior to joining Lykes, Pariseau founded Benefits Solutions Group, which he later merged with AGIS of Winter Park, Fla. to create AGIS Tampa Bay. Previously, he was Senior Vice President of Employer Solutions with Wachovia, where he built one of the largest, fastest growing employee benefits practice in Florida while leading Wachovia's national healthcare, communications and technology practice groups. He also served with Ceridian, where he specialized in benefits compliance and HR administration for Fortune 500 clients; and with Mass Mutual and Cigna, where he specialized in the design, funding and communication of healthcare and retirement plans. Pariseau holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Colgate University, the CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist) designation awarded jointly by the Wharton School of Business and the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, and the CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter) designation awarded by The American College. He has been published in local and national periodicals and is a frequent speaker at industry functions and conferences.

“Clients want us to bend the cost curve down, help communicate and educate their employees about their benefits, take work off the HR department and keep them in compliance with a growing number of federal regulations,” says Pariseau. “By taking a unique approach to benefits planning that involves senior management as well as human resources, Lykes Insurance will provide long term value and much-needed leadership in the insurance industry.”
